Getting ready for my first Wiltshire Wedding – What’s in my kit bag Part 1

The wedding photographers kit

As previously mentioned in my last blog post I have agreed to shoot my first wedding. My kit bag is pretty full already, but in order to to properly shoot the wedding with redundancy factored in I had to make a few purchases. Here is a summary of my kit bag.

Cameras bodies x 2 Nikon D610 + D750

Two full-frame camera bodies are a must for  professional wedding photographers. If one breaks down, which is unlikely to happen, but in case it does I need a back up. Imagine only having one camera and that breaks halfway through a wedding. I use top end professional cameras that help me create the best shots in the most challenging of environments

Lens

Sigma 35 1.4 ART, Nikon 50mm 1.8, Tamron 24-70mm, Nikon 70-200 2.8

I use a mixture of fast prime and fast zooms lens. These allow me to shoot in low light, like you get in churches or during the evening reception.

Flashes

SB-700 x 2

Flashes are important for getting great shots during the evening reception where it is simply too dark to rely on natural light along. The flashes can also be used off camera for creative lighting either during the reception or for posed shots.
